Events: Happening Now and Coming Soon!

Now, now, right now!

The University of Hawaii Warriors are in Idaho and Colt Brennan is on the field with the team and throwing passes as the team completes more touchdowns. The more I listen the more I realize this game is going to wrap up before I can get this posted! Yep, I was right. Final score: Hawaii 48, Idaho 20.

Hawaii Winter Baseball: The City and County of Honolulu’s Public Communications Division shared the news that Honolulu’s “Mayor Mufi Hannemann announced that the City and County of Honolulu will co-sponsor a Sunset at the Ballpark event, “Catch the Dream, Waipahu” this coming Saturday and Sunday at Hans L’Orange Field during the Opening Day weekend of the 2007 Hawaii Winter Baseball season.” Sounds like fun! Here’s the link for all of the information. It’s going on now and will continue tomorrow! Some of the players are names you will recognize, players who play for some of the big boys, like the New York Yankees, etc.

I love the City & County’s Communications Division, they are so good about sharing stuff and keeping us informed. Big mahalos you guys!

Later Today!

Fencing Practice! Seriously. This is new to me and I’ll try to bring you more information as it becomes available. In the mean time, from 5 to 7 pm this evening, there will be fencing practice at Kapunahala Elementary School, located at 45-828 Anoi Road in Kaneohe. They also have weekday practices in Honolulu at a couple of locations adjacent to the Ala Wai. Check out this website for more details and contact information, if you’re interested!

Later This Coming Week

Just So You Know…

In case you missed it, TheBoat, the City and County of Honolulu’s most recent attempt at cutting back on traffic congestion, has now got free WiFi on board! Woo hoo! In addition, just so you know, yesterday was the last day to ride free. To check out all the rules, costs and to leave feed back, go here! I did ask if we could forget about rail if enough people take TheBoat. I couldn’t help it, I had to.

Mirror-coated Piggy BankFlowered Piggy BankThe Kim Taylor Reece gallery on Bethel Street in downtown Honolulu is going to host a The Great Piggy Bank Fundraiser! I’ve never been to a Piggy Bank fundraiser before. These are piggy banks created by the hands of Hawaii artists, designers, celebrities and companies. The exhibition of these pretty piggies will run from October 1st to the 15th!

Prices range from $50 to $95. Don’t worry, they will also have other piggies and gift baskets starting at $10. Let’s see, who would be a good person to give a piggy to for Christmas?

You will be able to find these decorated pigs at 1142 Bethel Street and for more information you can call 546-1144. At the very least, you’ve got to go see the pigs!

This event will benefit the Hawaii Families As Allies (HFAA) for programs to benefit children with serious emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. Mahalo, Kim, for hosting this event and for giving back to the community!
